XLIV Annual meeting of Indian Academy of Neurosciences (IAN-2026) will be organized during October 6-9, 2026 at The BRIC- National Brain Research Centre (BRIC-NBRC), Manesar-Gurgaon, India.

Prof PN Tandon Oration

Members of the Indian Academy of Neurosciences and students of Prof PN Tandon generated a corpus to constitute an award in recognition of the Prof. PN Tandon, a stalwart of clinical Neuroscience and also a past president of the Academy. The award is conferred on a Neuroscientist based on his / her research contributions in the area of clinical neurosciences/allied sciences.

The award consists of a cash award of Rs 10,000, a scroll and a memento, given to the awardee at the time of the lecture. Free local hospitality will be extended and travel (fully/partially) may be supported by the Organizers subject to the availability of funds.

Rules and Regulations:

The Awardee must be a Fellow/ Honorary Member/ Honorary Fellow/ Life Member of the Indian Academy of Neurosciences.
He/ She should have at least 10 years standing in the area of clinical Neurosciences/allied sciences.
The contributions in Neuroscience in India will be judged by:
1. Research publications
2. Awards
3. Contributions to growth of clinical Neurosciences/allied sciences in India.
A Search Committee consisting of the following office bearers and fellows of the Indian Academy will be constituted by the Executive committee which will consider the nominations/ propose a panel of maximum 2 Neuroscientists, preferably in order of merit:
1. President
2. Secretary HQ
3. General Secretary
4. Dean
5. Editor of the Journal
6. Two Fellows of the Academy.v. Editor of the Journal
7. Two Fellows of the Academy.
The Dean will be the Convenor of the Committee and will invite nominations. The members of this committee and Office bearers of the year of award shall not be eligible.
The Executive Committee will approve the final name and award will be announced during the Inaugural function of the annual general meeting of the Academy.
The awardee will give an oration on the topic of his choice preferably at the annual meeting or under the auspices of a local chapter. The awardee will be encouraged to provide MSS of the oration for publication in the Annals of Neurosciences.
